About Miss Dandawate
A career dedicated to women's health
Miss Beena Dandawate specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1999, graduating with honours and receiving the Gold Medal for best outgoing Registrar of the year. She moved to the UK in 2004 for further study, obtaining her FRCOG and completing her specialist registrar training in 2011 at the Wessex Deanery.
Now a highly skilled Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Dorset County Hospital - and the only female gynaecologist in Dorset - Miss Dandawate was the pioneer in establishing the Enhanced Recovery Pathway for gynaecological surgical patients, a programme that has significantly improved patient outcomes and satisfaction across the region.
She is the Gynaecological Oncology Lead for West Dorset, with a particular interest in managing early cancer cases, conducting outpatient hysteroscopies, and running specialist one-stop clinics for menstrual disorders and postmenopausal bleeding. She also speaks Hindi.
Outside of medicine, Beena enjoys painting, yoga, and travelling.
